Friends in fashion: Ira and Sonam

Girls just wanna have fun. And when a film's unit is dominated by the fairer sex, what can one expect other than talk about bags, clothes, shoes and the latest style trends? "We did all that and more," says Ira Dubey, who will be seen playing Sonam's best friend in an upcoming film.

"My character Pinky Bose is a mixed breed half Bengali and half Punjabi. I'm this muhfat, outgoing girl who has both black and white shades. With her wild ways, she brings about a balance in Sonam's character's life," elaborates Ira.





But she gushes on to tell us about what a wonderful time she had bonding with her co-star. "Sonam and I became really good buddies on the sets, especially at the outdoor shoot in Hrishikesh. The girl-dominated set had incessant chatter about brands, bags, accessories, etc," says Ira. And it's not just talk. The girls freely indulged in some retail therapy too.

Reveals Ira, "We were in Delhi shooting in some high-end malls and a sale was on. All of us had a blast shopping there; we were so excited. Another scene needed us to be in a parlour and there too we had a great time gossiping and getting pampered." And the bonding doesn't seem to have ended on the sets. "We try to meet as often as we can, but Sonam is busy travelling for work.

However, all of us keep in touch and hangout in Bandra as much as possible. In fact, my friends in town have started wondering if I've forgotten them!" she laughs. Well Ira, you know what they say make new friends but don't forget the old.
