CellDSGN's collection bore the brunt of mixed reactions from the media and buyers on Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week. The Delhi-based design team comprising Smita Singh Rathore and Shani Himanshu presented a daring medley of separates, each perfect for gothic Lolitas, corpse brides, lost girls and members of macabre tea parties. On a steady canvas of dusted pink floral overalls, the separates took centrestage. Patchwork dresses were brought to life from floral silks, vintage lace, handmade net and other "salvaged bits of your imagination" as the designers put it. It was all later dolled-up with twisted swaths of fabric, metallic chains and antique watch details. As individual pieces, these will work fabulously only for women who knows a thing or two about styling their look.
