Strappy stilettos, glow sneakers and glitter pumps - pick the right footwear to make heads turn this party season
Your shoes can make or break the perfect party look. Picking the right pair is almost as important as picking the right outfit. "Stilettos are usually the most preferred party picks but may not always be the most practical option if you will be dancing or standing for hours," says stylist Payal Hindocha. "The year has been interesting in terms of shoe styles as there are multiple options available. Of late, even Indian wear like ghaghara skirts are being paired with funky printed sports shoes. The key is knowing how to get it right and not go overboard. It's vital to balance the outfit and the shoes. For instance, a plain white shirt worn with a heavy lehenga can add a Western touch to your look and sneakers with glitter on them can offset this perfectly," she adds.
Dress up that LBD
"Sports shoes go best with the LBD. Pop colours, prints and glitter variety are acceptable at most parties and make for casual, funky combinations," says Hindocha.

According to celebrity stylist Eshaa Amiin, if you are short, it is best to pick matte or glossy pointy pumps as it adds length to your legs. "Avoid ankle straps and gladiators if you have heavy legs. Chunky platforms are passe," she says.
The androgynous look
Pant suits and Cigarette pants have an androgynous feel to them and a pair of strappy heels adds a classy feminine touch to it," shares Hindocha.

To offset the monochrome look
When you are wearing black or white to a party, pick a pair of red shoes or a pair in pop colours to give the outfit a brand new look. "Recently, I paired plum red glitter pumps with a black-and-white dress that broke the grey but kept the look classy," says Hindocha.

Wedgy delight
Short skirts can be paired with a pair of metallic wedges, which give you the added height but don't look too chunky. They are also a lot more comfortable than pencil heels.

For the coloured dress
"If your dress is embroidered, printed, blingy or heavy, go for subtle heels. Always keep a pair of strappy silvers and golds in your shoe rack. A combination of gold and silver is the safest bet," says Hindocha.

"The shoes have to be edgy and minimal. Classic-cut pumps and ankle-length booties are my picks," says Eshaa Amiin
