After Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan was detained at the Newark airport in the US over his surname, the airport authorities allowed him to make only telephone call.
The superstar, who had been detained for over two hours, could think of no one other than Congressman Rajeev Shukla.
"On Friday night at 11.45 Shah Rukh's secretary called to say that he was detained at the Newark airport in the US. A few minutes later Shah Rukh hmself called and said that he had been detained for over an hour. Shah Rukh added that he had been detained because of his surname Khan. I told him not panic and maintain his cool," Shukla told MiD DAY.
SRK also told Shukla that the authorities asked him about his contacts in the US.
