Ahead of his December concert, top Dutch DJ to offer prayers at Siddhivinayak temple
Set to play for his fans in India next month, a visit to the auspicious Siddhivinayak temple is on the itinerary of DJ Hardwell. The musician will turn up in the city a day prior to his scheduled performance, and partake in a host of activities. Shailendra Singh, who is set to bring Hardwell to India, tells mid-day, "It is a tradition. For several years, I have been taking my team to the temple to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings. This time, we wanted to add some 'Indianness' to DJ Hardwell's India visit. I sent him an email to learn if he would be keen to join us, and he agreed immediately."

Interestingly, no special treatment will be meted out to the musician during his visit. "We want him to experience things like we do. Hardwell will stand in queue with the people, and may even attend the aarti. He will also get a taste of the modak," he says, but adds that elaborate security arrangements are underway.

The Dutchman will also interact with underprivileged kids. Singh says the DJ has been associated with the NGO, Magicbus, for a while, and a cricket match has been organised with the children of the association. "The team arriving with him will battle an Indian team, which will also include me. This match will take place at the slums behind Cuffe Parade's Sassoon Dock. "He had visited the kids when he came down in 2015 as well."
