Spurred by the overwhelming response to its Middle East foray, Country Club India Ltd (CCIL), India's leading leisure and infrastructure company, has entered the United Kingdom market as well.

CCIL recently opened its UK offices in London at a glittering ceremony that was attended by UK Member of Parliament Virendra Sharma and leading showbiz personality Sophie Choudhry amongst others.u00a0

The ceremony also saw the launch of Country Club's UK specific membership card called Country Club Fortune. According to CIL chairman Y Rajeev Reddy, CCIL's UK entry is a part of a global expansion plan that began in 2008 when the company took over an existing boutique hotel for 165 million AED (then Rs 175 crores). Reddy pointed out that CCIL is keen to buy properties in and around London. The time is right to buy in UK as the property prices are relatively cheap now, he added.

CCIL had released advertisements in the London-based dailies - Daily Mail and Metro seeking an operational club, hotel and a golf club. Reddy informed that the advertisements had met with a good response and CCIL would shortlist a couple of properties soon.

Reddy said, "The overwhelming response CCIL received in Dubai spurred us to make further inroads in Middle East markets and bolster our global ambitions. Presently the company has offices in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia."

CCIL currently has operations in Middle East, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The company owns and operates over 55 clubs across India and abroad and has over three lakh members.u00a0
