The Mumbai edition of the 6th Jagran Film Festival promises a heady mix of classic and contemporary cinema from around the world

Touted to be India's only travelling film festival, the 6th Jagran Film Festival (JFF) will be back in Mumbai on September 28 for a weeklong treat at Fun Cinemas, Andheri. Centered on the ‘Happiness' theme, this year's festival reaches new horizons with its colour, collection and cinematic delights as it has travelled through 16 cities over the past three months.

The 6th Jagran Film Festival will open with Standing Tall (left), which was the opening night selection movie for the 68th Cannes Film Festival this year. Directed by French actress Emmanuelle Bercot, it traces the journey of an abandoned six-year-old boy with the juvenile justice system

During the seven-day festival, films under competitive categories such as Indian Showcase, Jagran Shorts (an international competition for short films), Cinema of the Sellers and Debut Directors will be screened.

Besides offering a larger-than-life premiere platform for films in the Jagran Premiere category, the festival will look back at some memorable movies under the Retrospective section and pay tribute to Hindi classics in the Homage category. The Mumbai edition will also present a collection of 10 Best International Short Films under a special section, Top Shorts.

This apart, JFF will also have a rendezvous with some masters of the cinema world to engage, enlighten and educate on various topics in their workshops and master classes. Film enthusiasts in the city can enroll for creative workshops everyday between September 29 and October 4 (11.00 am onwards). The sessions range from Public Interviews and Master Classes to subjects like Casting in Cinema, Finding Money for films, Meet the Director, Making Advertising Films, Selling Films and more.
