Santosh Rai, who was allegedly slapped by Govinda on a film set in 2008, is a man on a mission. On Monday, he moved the Supreme Court and a notice has now been issued to Govinda. Rai's lawyer, Jatin Zaveri, says, "Govinda humiliated Rai in front of the public. The actor has been issued a notice, but when he has been asked to put in an appearance is not clear."

Rai, now a marketing professional, says, "I had come to Mumbai to become an actor but this incident ruined my life. I have been fighting this case for six years and I have spent R5 to 6 lakh on lawyers' fees. But I will not give up."
He adds that Govinda didn't call him even once to apologise for his rash behaviour. "I will now fight him in court," says Rai.
Bombay High Court had quashed his case in November 2013, saying that Rai had filed the case a year after the incident, making it look like he was instigated to act against the actor. Govinda allegedly slapped Rai in 2008 while shooting for 'Money Hai To Honey Hai' at Filmistan Studio.
When contacted, the actor denied receiving a notice. "I could've sued him after the Bombay HC quashed his case, but I didn't do it. Now he seems to be stopping at nothing, so I will have to think about it," said Govinda.
