Last weekend, movie buffs made a beeline for 'Spectre', the latest instalment of James Bond franchise, even as the solo Hindi release, 'X: Past Is Present' ran to near-empty theatres.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "'Spectre' recorded the biggest opening for a 007 movie in India with collections of Rs 8.40 crore on Thursday and Friday. And as expected, the business got a boost over the weekend. Its total collections now stand at Rs 23.50 crore."
Despite 'X: Past Is Present' failing to find takers, the Bollywood industry did not have much to lose as the Salman Khan-starrer 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' found favour with movie lovers after slow business during the week days. "It is nearing the Rs 200-crore mark," adds Adarsh.
Trade expert Amod Mehra says, "'X: Past Is Present' was a complete washout. Spectre was the only film which recorded impressive numbers. The collections of 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' plummeted right in the last week. Although it crossed Rs 100 crore within the first three days of its release, it could not maintain the momentum."
