Despite boasting of a big star cast, Mohit Suri's 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' failed to rake in the moolah at the box-office. The opening day collection of the film was around Rs 5 crore and it saw a marginal growth on the weekend. The total first week collection of the film is Rs 16.50 crore approximately.

Trade Expert, Amod Mehra says, "'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' failed to lure audiences from the word go. The film saw dismal collections on Friday and Saturday with the performance improving slightly on Sunday, but not good enough to be called respectable. 'Dil Dhadakne Do' (DDD) maintained good collections in big cities and multiplexes. However, 'Jurassic World' registered best weekend collections of the lot."
As per trade analyst Komal Nahata, "'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' has seen little growth and it doesn't seem like it will last for a long time. On the other hand, DDD is doing well but I don't see it crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is still going strong at the box-office and should cross Rs 150 crore mark by next week."
