Both 'Finding Fanny' and 'Creature 3D' have attracted a mixed response at the box office over the opening weekend

Homi Adjania's Finding Fanny has collected around Rs 18 crore in the first four days of its release, while Vikram Bhatt's Creature 3D has managed to rake in Rs 13 crore.

Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, "Finding Fanny has been liked by the gentry audience. It is not an out and out commercial film, but it is being lapped up by the multiplex-going audience. Creature 3D, on the other hand, has great 3D effects, but the film's theme is not exactly winning over audiences."

Trade pundits also point out that Finding Fanny seems to be targeted to a niche audience.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, "Finding Fanny opened to an average response; the collections increased just marginally on Saturday. It fared decently on Sunday as well, but it has still a long way to go. The film is in English and caters mainly to the upper middle class. Though the critics have loved it, the audience's response has not been too encouraging."

Mehra adds that Creature 3D too seems to have failed to lure moviegoers in a big way. "It did average business over the weekend. Made at a high cost with good 3D effects, the film has done well mainly in the single screen theatres."

Meanwhile, Mary Kom is still going strong at the box office. "Mary Kom has done brisk business this weekend and it crossed the Rs 50 crore mark this week," says Mehra.
