Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has been missing in action for a while now. Well, it is now clear why the Bollywood legend was nowhere to be seen.

The dancing legend's continued absence from the Bollywood scene has led to speculation about his health for a while now. His not being a part of any Bollywood project and not even a part of this season of 'Dance India Dance' has got his fans worried and curious. His manager has now confirmed the bad news that the veteran actor is not keeping well and is resting in Los Angeles.

Speaking to Spotboye.com, the manager, Vijay said, "Dada is unwell and not in Mumbai. He is not using his phone and has decided to rest himself in Los Angeles for at least a month. It's been nearly two weeks now since he flew out, and he will return only by end of this month."

"Dada also had a hairline fracture in his back, but thankfully he doesn't need a surgery," he added.

Mithun's back problems apparently started from the time he hurt his back in a stunt for the Imran Khan-Shruti Hassan starrer 'Luck' in 2009. Mithun had to jump from a helicopter in one scene and hurt his back after mistiming his jump,

Vijay revealed, "Dada mistimed his jump and thereafter his back started giving him too much trouble."

Since that injury, the Bengali actor, who was last seen on the big screen in the Sonakshi Sinha-starrer 'Akira', has aggravated his health condition by being a part of many action sequences. Now, he's taken time out to recuperate in the relative anonymity of LA.
