"Nothing's completely planned as yet. But yes, if 'Sadak 2' ever happens, I would love to do it," actor Sanjay Dutt tells mid-day, confirming rumours that discussions are indeed on to bring back characters from Dutt's 1991 drama co-starring Pooja Bhatt, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, and loosely based on Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Driver' (1976).
The tattle doing the rounds over 'Sadak' sequel relate to how the film could mark the comeback of Bhatt as director, with his daughters Alia and Pooja in the female-lead roles (with the latter playing the former's mom). Although tight-lipped on the developments thus far, Dutt admits, "It's a great script - not a remake, but another part [of the same film]. I have spoken to Bhatt saab about it. I hope something comes out of it."

The other set of whispers around Dutt, of course, do not concern as much Dutt himself as his biopic, which is currently under production, being directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Gossip mills online have been churning out reports on how the film is likely to have the actor's contemporaries on-screen, and that Dutt had personally messaged/ requested Salman Khan to play a cameo in it. Dutt denies these rumours: "I don't think the script demands any of that at all," he says.

As for his own involvement in the biopic, given that he's likely to give his voice-over, Dutt says, "Nothing has been told to me yet. But yeah, if they ask me to do a voice-over or something like that, I'd be happy to."
