Bollywood mocks Donald Trump's victory in the US Presidential elections on social media
Donald Trump
The election of Republican candidate Donald Trump to the White House yesterday triggered a range of reactions, but mostly shock among celebrities around the world.
Hollywood stars instantly took to Twitter to express dismay over the majority's choice and closer home, Bollywood names couldn't contain their amazement either.
Twinkle Khanna wrote, "'Ignorant, sexist, racist, but thank God, not a feminist!' said the birdbrained followers as they flapped their wings for Donald Duck"
Filmmaker, Ram Gopal Varma went on a tweeting spree. "For some reason, I like the present First Lady [Melania Trump] much more than the previous. Can anyone tell me why?" read one of lesser racist posts.
Actress-producer Dia Mirza put up an equally funny tweet: "A man that refuses to believe that climate change is real may just lead the world!"
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta's "The end" tweet said a lot more than the two words tweeted.
Actress Huma Qureshi also took a swipe at Trump, "Dear America, Trump is what happens when you watch too much reality TV."
Filmmaker Shirish Kunder was at his witty best as he posted, "President Trump is not racist. He cares for white people in spite of being orange."
Some others, however, remained unfazed by the chaos. Actor-filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh tweeted "congratulations" to Trump while 'Kai Po Che' director Abhishek Kapoor wrote, "Breathe⦠It's gonna be okay."
