Amole Gupte hits the right note when it comes to making films for kids. Known for the poignant story of Taare Zameen Par (2007), he is now set to release his next project, Sniff, in May. Believed to be Bollywood's first kiddie action adventure film, it is written and directed by Amole. But before the franchise hits cinemas, the film's producers, Trinity Pictures, will launch a comic series inspired by characters from the film in association with Diamond Comics.
Titled Sunny Gill & Agents Of Sniff, the comic series explores the adventures of spy-superhero Sunny, who is also the central character of the film. The comic stories will be available with Chacha Chaudhary books. Chacha and Gill are also likely to feature together in the April edition, available in English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati.
The series has been written by Yogesh Chandekar and illustrated by award-winning illustrator Saumin Patel.
Ajit Thakur of Trinity says, "We set out to build characters who outlive the plots, and travel beyond the screen. It's time to take the big step and introduce Sunny Gill, an eight-year-old underdog who goes on to become India's first spy-superhero."
