An online protest petition against Samajwadi chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's controversial remarks on rape survivors has been doing the rounds. And it urges people to join the signature campaign that asks Amitabh Bachchan to boycott a biopic on the politician. However, sources close to the veteran star clarify that Big B is not part of the film, contrary to earlier reports.

A source says, "Mr Bachchan has not been approached for the film. He has not even made any statement to confirm these reports. This petition is pointless."
hitlist reported about a biopic being made on the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister on August 12. A section of the media later claimed that Bachchan had been approached to introduce the film starring Raghubir Yadav.
While it could be said that the intention of the petition was to keep Bachchan from extending any support to the biopic, the source maintains, "Nowadays, one can easily file a petition to come into the limelight."
What Mulayam Singh Yadav said
One commits rape and then four more are named. Kabhi aisa ho sakta hai kya? Aisa practical hi nahin hai (Can such a thing happen? It is practically impossible)
What the protest petition reads
If thousands sign this petition, we can ensure that veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan boycott the film celebrating achievements of sexist and insensitive politicians like Mulayam Singh Yadav
