Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to star in Malayalam film Kandahar, which is based on the hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight 10 years ago. Directed by Major Ravi, the film will also star veteran Mohanlal. The Big B will play the father of a passenger on the hijacked plane while Mohanlal will play a commando. The film will be shot in Delhi, Kerala and Nepal.
On December 24, 1999, flight IC-814 was hijacked when it was en route from Kathmandu to New Delhi and had 186 hostages on board.
