Asha Bhosle tweeted, "I love my brother Hriday very much. Best wishes to all brothers and sisters today. I was crying when I sang ab ke baras bhej bhaiya ko babul because I was married by then & missed my only brother Hriday." Eesha Koppikhar was one of the first ones to tweet. "Good Morning World .Happy Raksha Bandhan to all d brothers n to all der lovely sisters," she wrote.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn had some funny advice to impart, "Yo sistas while you pray for your bro's long life plz cut his pocket with a big knife..make sure u bag a big gift :) happy raksha bandhan" Karan Johar revealed that having a sister was a childhood dream. "Having a sister was a little childhood dream I had...I have family that completes my dream today...love to all of you..." he tweeted.


Sonakshi Sinha had a completely different take on the concept as she quoted from India's pledge. "All indians are brothers and sisters?!?! in that case, a very, very happy rakhi!," she tweeted. The Dabangg actress and Minissha Lamba were the ones who got several replies to their tweets from male followers, who insisted they didn't want to be their brothers.
