Before undertaking a "delicious" journey with Kriti Sanon in Uttar Pradesh, courtesy 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', Ayushmann Khurrana hit the food trail in Kolkata for 'Meri Pyaari Bindu'. And his partner in crime was co-star Parineeti Chopra, a self-confessed foodie. By the time the film shoot wrapped up, the two became "close friends", like Pari has admitted earlier.
Ayushmann, on his part, can't stop gushing about the actress and their camaraderie. "She is fantastic. She is simple, spunky and immensely talented. As a co-actor, she is co-operative. She gives her best and pushes you to give your best, too," he says, adding that a common love for music and food helped them click instantly.
"It's a happy coincidence that our film is based in Kolkata. Bengal, after all, is known best for music and food."
The actor-singer, who performed in the city yesterday at a music festival called Eat Play Love, says Bareilly Ki Barfi is also a special film for him. "That's because I get to play a different shade in this one. It's a Woody Allen kinda script."
Ayushmann says music has helped him hone his acting skills. "Every character has a tone and every scene, a crescendo. If you have a good sense of music, you can relate to the beats of acting in a better way," he explains.
