Athiya Shetty and Kiara Advani were vying for a role in Akarsh Khurana's 'Karwan', which has just gone on floors. The two are looked after by the same management agency. Both felt they would bag the role. But the makers preferred newcomers for the female cast.
Web sensation Mithila Palkar ('Girl In The City') is on board and now comes news that theatre actor Donna Munshi, who has been part of Khurana's stage troupe, has been finalised.
'Karwan', produced by Ronnie Screwvala, stars Malayalam actor Dulquer Salman (son of South icon Mammootty) and Irrfan Khan. Better luck next time for the Shetty gal and the MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) actor.
