Anu Malik says that he's got three girlfriends at home. Before you read too much into this, let us tell you that he means his wife Anju and his two daughters, Anmol and Ada. And he can't stop talking about the women in his life. Back from London after attending Anmol's graduation ceremony, Anu talks to CS about his relationship with his daughters:

Here's the flashback. After Anmol won an award for her song Mein Talli Ho Gayi (Ugly Aur Pagli), she suddenly became very curious about the story of my life, my struggles, my highs and lows. Then one day when I came back from a recording, I found her studying. She then told me that she had applied for a course in the University of Warwick. Cut to the present. We have just returned from her graduation ceremony, and boy, are we proud!u00a0 The function was so grand, nothing short of the Will-Kate wedding and like a star-struck father, I caught every moment of it on my videocam. And when she blew me a kiss from the stage, I actually had tears in my eyes. I knew that my little girl had finally grown up.
Girl power
I feel blessed to have two priceless daughters. My wife and daughters are very possessive and protective of me, and I enjoy that feeling. Ada keeps sending me SMSes asking me what I'm doing, so I'm tracked all the time (laughs). But I've always made it a point to be accountable to my family. There have been times when I have got bad press, but I've always told my family to trust me. Not to say that I'm perfect, I do have my weaknesses, but I have been transparent before my family. I always say that Anju should get a Bharat Ratna for having stuck with me.
We are family
As a family, we ensure that we spend quality time together. We go to fancy fine-dine places for candlelight dinners, we travel extensively, we go on long drives, we watch films together (Anmol has a deadly collection of these offbeat films), but what we enjoy the most is sitting at home and not doing anything. We're not the partying sort of family. Even when Anmol and Ada go for parties, they come back at a decent hour saying that they were getting bored there. As for their careers, Ada wants a career in fashion design. Anmol has studied computer science, but I have a hunch that she will enter the music world. I suspect she's got a project plan brewing in her head. I often see her sitting at the piano or humming a tune. I'm waiting for the day when she will share it with me.
