If sources are to be believed, Arshad Warsi will be playing the role of UP gangster Babloo Shrivastava in a film based on his autobiography, Adhoora Khwab.
The film is being directed Manish Vatsalya, who has made films like Jeena Hai Toh Thok Daal and Dussehra. Bhola Malviya, Arshad's business manager, confirmed the story. "Yes, the film will go on the floors by the end of this year, it should start sometime in December," he said.
The film, titled Babloo, is supposed to trace the life story of Babloo Shrivastava from 1984 to 1995. The film will show Shrivastava studying law at Lucknow University and how he goes on to become a part of the crime world.
Director Manish Vatsalya says that they will shoot at original locations. "We will be shooting in India and abroad - be it Malaysia, Bangkok, Nepal, Nairobi and Dubai or New Delhi and Lucknow." He adds that he zeroed in on Arshad Warsi for the role since he finds the actor to have a âpeculiar sense of humour'.
"He totally fits the part," says Vatsalya.
