Actor Arjan Bajwa left an impression on audiences with his roles in Guru and Fashion. He's now back as Jaideep Mahajan, an aggressive young man with a political background in Shawn Arranha's suspense thriller, Hide N Seek. Arjan, who's currently shooting in Jaisalmer for Hema Malini's Tell Me O Khuda, chats with CS about his Bollywood aspirations:
Sheer excitement
Hide N Seek has a novel concept and feel. We are a group of friends who are playing the game of hide-and-seek in a mall. I am playing this rude, ruthless and extremely proud character. But it's not a negative character. Working on the film was a great experience. I know Purab (Kohli) and Ayaz (Khan) from my modelling days, and we chilled out together everyday after shooting.
Choosing right
I'm choosy. After playing the negative role of a tycoon in Guru, I played the part of an honest struggling model in Fashion. I want to act in different kinds of films in varied roles. But I want to do a lot of intense roles, as I like to see powerful personas on screen. I love action movies and would love to do death-defying stunts in some of them!
Southern schooling
Though I started off my movie career with Telugu films, I am not doing any films down South right now. Working in the South was a great learning experience for me. It taught me the techniques of film-making, and a lot of discipline. I was lucky to work with some big banners there. I am surprised that Southern directors chose me, as I don't resemble a South Indian from any angle. They import girls from across India into films; I guess they wanted an imported boy (laughs).
Zooming ahead
I have a passion for cars and bikes since childhood. When I was a kid, my family owned an Ambassador and there used to be this Fiat parked outside our home. I so wanted us to own that car and one day my mom told be that we did. From that day on, I used to study, play and eat in the Fiat. Now I hope to get a pilot's license one day; nothing beats the thrill of flying.
