Bachchan wins Lifetime Achievement Award at the 4th Asian Film Awards

Amitabh Bachchan added another feather to his cap when he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 4th Asian Film Awards held at the Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong. The award was meant to be a recognition of the actor's contribution to Indian cinema.

Describing his feelings about the award, Amitabh said on his blog, "Thank you Hong Kong, thank you Asian Film Awards for the respect and honor that you bestowed upon me, an honor that I shall cherish and remember fondly always."

The Best Picture award went to the South Korean film Mother. It also bagged the best screenplay prize for director Bong Joon-ho and co-writer Park Eun-kyo and the Best Actress award for its star Kim Hye-ja.
