Model-actor Arjan Bajwa who was last seen in Fashion always wanted to visit Paris, the most romantic city in the world. His wish came true when he went there for a show three months back. Arjan shares his Parisian sojourn with CS:
The romance of ParisI went to Paris around August end and the weather was quite pleasant. The days were bright and the evenings had a nice nip in the air. I actually went on work and decided to stay on a bit longer to explore the city. I had always heard that Paris was the most romantic city in the world, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. My dream has been to visit all the Seven Wonders of the World, and with Eiffel Tower being one of them, I grabbed the opportunity to visit Paris. Everything about the city is beautiful. The best part is that though Paris is a highly developed city, it's not a typical high-rise concrete jungle. It boasts off its rich French architecture in every nook and corner. The major part of the city is just made up of seven storey old buildings so if you are on a height you can get a view of the whole city. The landscaping, the food and not to mention, the French beauties all make it very exciting.
Sightseeing in the city The one sight that's deeply embedded my memory is of the Eiffel Tower at night, when it glitters with all its magnificence. Then obviously the boat cruises on the River Seine, where you can explore all the scenic beauty of Paris at one go. Tourists should also visit Chatelet, the Paris metro in the midst of medieval Paris, the cafeterias along the streams, etc. Art lovers shouldn't miss the Louvre Museum with its Mona Lisa painting.
There is a statue of liberty in the middle of River Seine. Incidentally, it was a French statue maker who made the statue for US as well and kept a smaller one aside for France. Champ Ellyses is a beautiful walk and you get to see the latest fashion out there as it's like a live ramp walk and most designers use that area to showcase their latest designs. Also you get to see all the possible Paris models there.
Feeling French The experience was out of the world. I would love to go there again. The people are very friendly and their culture is very open. The food is also great. Yes, I bought some souvenirs and perfumes as the latter are really famous in Paris. Though the nightlife is great, I didn't have time for clubbing. But, I did see the Moulin Rouge show. It is one of the most spectacular musicals you can come across. It is done very beautifully and the bright and colourful costumes are a delight. The music is also very catching and you can enjoy the show over a glass of French wine and some great food.
Paradise in Paris
Everything in Paris is a must-see. Commuting is easy and the food is great. But vegetarians might find it difficult to appease their taste buds. And yes, I highly recommend the river cruise on the Seine. But, beware of pickpocketers.
