Mentor magic
I started learning music in school at Mayo College, Ajmer but I wasn't sure of taking up music as a career. My voice has a husky texture, so I wasn't confident of getting accepted in Bollywood.
When I was in the eighth gradeu00a0 visiting home for the summer holidays, I met Salman Khan at our place. He saw this Tanpura lying in my room and found out that I could sing. I was a shy girl and wouldn't sing in front of people, so whenever Salman met me he would ask me to sing a line or two.
While I was studying at St. Xavier's, Mumbai he gave me this opportunity to sing Just Chill from Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. Before I knew it, I was in the recording studio singing the track.
Thereafter, he put me through with Sajid-Wajidbhai who helped me polish my skills. I am presently learning music from Sarfaraz Khan, their mama.
Likewise, I was in Delhi for my dad's heart surgery when I got a call from Salman asking me to come and dub for Ready's songs. It's been a fantastic journey so far.u00a0
