Faaiz Anwar and Prem Prakash Gupta's romcom, Love Ke Funday is slated for a worldwide release on July 15. To record the Naina Shaatir Bade song, producer-lyricist Anwar and writer-director Indervesh Yogee felt only a singer of Sukhwinder Singh's calibre would do it justice, but the film's shoestring budget made them hesitant to approach him.

Since Sukhwinder and Anwar are good friends, the latter decided to take a risk. He called up the singer and explained his predicament. Sukhwinder asked him to mail the lyrics to him, assuring that he would do it for free for the sake of their friendship. His only condition? The song had to be recorded the next morning since he was flying out of the country for a show that evening.

Sukhwinder shot for the song despite a busy schedule. Anwar says, "I have no words to thank Sukhwinder Singh. I sent a cheque twice to his house to express my gratitude but he returned it without even opening the envelope. Even today, there are geniuses like Sukhi who are true friends in the real sense."
Anwar has written chartbusters for films like Jab We Met, Dabangg (Tere Mast Mast Do Nain) and Rowdy Rathore (Chikni Kamar).
