Akshay Kumar, who has been doing comedies of late, insists he hasn't given up on doing serious roles.
He was here to promote his film Khatta Meetha, which is releasing Friday. Directed by Priyadarshan, the comedy will see Akshay playing a contractor and he was dressed like one for the press meet.
In last few years, his name has been associated with comedies only, but the actor started his career with serious film Saugandh and later featured in action dramas such as Khiladi, Sangharsh, Ajnabee and Aakhein.

His stint with comedy started with Priyadarshan's super hit film Hera Pheri. After the success of the movie, Akshay worked in a string of comedies like Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, De Dhana Dhan and Housefull.
In most of the films his acting style was same, but the actor denies any monotony in his performance saying: "Everybody have their own viewpoint, but I don't feel there is any monotony."
