Akshay Kumar's 'Baby' screenplay shortlisted for the Oscar Library
Neeraj Pandey's 'Baby', starring Akshay Kumar, has been approached by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for inclusion of its screenplay in the core collection of the Academy's library.
The library is considered a reservoir of some of the best work in cinema across the world and each year only a chosen few films make it to the elite collection.
'Baby' released in January 2015 and was critically appreciated.
Writer-director Neeraj Pandey says, "The true appreciation of content is when it appeals universally. This is a great honour for 'Baby' and I am happy that our film has been recognised in international non-diaspora markets as well."
Producer Bhushan Kumar says, "I am over overwhelmed. It feels good when people not only in India but overseas recognise and appreciate your work and use it as a source for cinema study."
