Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Kapil Sharma's comedy show
It's one of the oldest stereotypes, but accurate, too, in most cases - women love to shop. However, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan found it hard to keep up with 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' co-star Ranbir Kapoor and director, Karan Johar, as they went around buying stuff during the film's Paris schedule. The leading ladies revealed it all during their recent visit to Kapil Sharma's sketch comedy show to promote their Diwali release.
Kapil quizzed Ranbir on his experience shooting in the City of Love, and how he had to turn coolie (porter) for Anushka and Ash, lugging their shopping bags. Before the Kapoor scion could answer, the girls corrected the funnyman, "In fact, it was the opposite. Ranbir and Karan were the ones who did all the shopping and we had to carry their bags. Ranbir is like the male version of Sonam Kapoor," said Anushka as Ash nodded in agreement.
The shoot started in filmy style, say sources from the show, with Ali Asgar getting into Jaya Bachchan's character doing aarti a la Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) to welcome the star cast. KJo, who is keeping a low profile following the snowballing controversy over Ae Dilâ¦, gave the show a miss.
Stand-up comic Sunil Grover aka Dr Mashoor Gulati tried to woo Aishwarya by showering flowers as well as praises on her, even dancing on a song from the film. But, when nothing worked, he put on a mask of Abhishek Bachchan and repeated the act, which left Ash doubling up with laughter.
Interestingly, this is the first time that Ash has stepped out to promote the film, in which she reportedly has nothing more than an "extended cameo".
