Actor Akshay Kumar and director Shirish Kunder patch up

The actor and the director make their peace after a year

A year on, Shirish Kunder and Akshay Kumar have sorted out their differences.

They did so at the Kambakht Ishq wrap-party hosted by producer Sajid Nadiad-wala on Tuesday night.

A guest present at the party says, "Farah and Shirish were sitting and chatting at one of the enclosures overlooking the sea.

Akshay walked in with Twinkle, and after mingling around, he made his way to where they were sitting.

Though Akshay and Farah had never had any issues, the fact that Akshay didn't do Shirish's sci-fi film, Joker, did cause ceratin coldness.

Shirish was hurt that the actor opted out while Akki feltu00a0 Kunder had been bad-mouthing him. Both being reserved, neither picked up the phone to sort it out."

An insider reveals, "The producers of Joker were to give Akshay a certain signing amount but at a later stage, backed out. And so Akshay didn't do the film.

Then due to lack of communication between Akshay and Shirish, things got worse. When they met at Sajid's party, they cleared out all the misunderstandings.

They talked for half an hour, and then promised to meet up again soon. Farah was very happy to see that everything was sorted out between Akshay and her husband."

Pehle ki baat

Shah Rukh Khan too had shown an interest in Joker but later backed out. There were reports that Saif Ali Khan had been approached to do the film, after Akki walked out.

Joker is a superhero action film and deals with global warming and its consequences but in an entertaining manner and not in a preachy way. Joker has been planned as a trilogy.
