Rani Mukerji's father, filmmaker Ram Mukherjee, passed away yesterday morning. He was 84. He had been ailing for a long time. The last rites were performed last afternoon. Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh and Ashutosh Gowariker were among those who attended the funeral.

A statement released by Yash Raj Films, headed by Rani's husband Aditya Chopra, stated, "Ram Mukerji passed away on October 22 at 6 am due to natural causes."

He is survived by wife Krishna, daughter Rani and son Raja. Mukerji was one of the key associates of S Mukerji Films and one of the founder members of Filmalaya Studios.
Aamir Khan
He had directed several films, which included like Hum Hindustani (1960), which featured Sunil Dutt and Asha Parekh and Leader (1964) starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala.
