The mounting losses incurred by Pakistani cinema owners amounting to Rs 150 million, along with the loss of over 100 jobs following the ban of Bollywood films in Pakistan amidst Indo-Pak tension resulting from the Uri attacks, prompted the neighbouring country to reconsider its decision.
Cinema owners across the border gave the green light to screen Indian films in the country on Monday, however Aamir Khan's wrestler biopic, 'Dangal', failed to get the nod for a theatrical release. The spokesperson of the distributors of the film issued a statement confirming the development.
The Nitesh Tiwari directed project will hit screens in India on December 23. It features Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra.
