Kolhapur: Superstar Aamir Khan, whose upcoming movie 'Dangal' is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, said that the sport not only requires physical strength, but also sharp brains.
Interacting with reporters here in the wrestling hub of Maharashtra, Aamir announced that 'Dangal' will be dubbed in Telugu and Tamil soon. The actor was here for the promotion of his movie which releases this Friday (December 23).
Aamir visited Hind Kesari Dadu Chougule and wrestler Vinod Chougule and also inaugurated their sport foundation. He then visited Motibaug Talim, which is over 100-years old and has the distinction of producing renowned wrestlers from city.
Aamir praised Kolhapur for its wrestling tradition and said "Mitti me kheli jane wali kushtika soundarya alag hai (the beauty of mud wrestling is different), but in my film people can see wrestling both on mat as well as mud."
Expressing his views on parallels being drawn between Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' and 'Dangal' Aamir said, "The stories of these two films are totally different. Commercially any of these films can supersede one another but winner will be the sport of wrestling."
Talking about his upcoming film Aamir said, "My next film will be with Amitabh Bachchan. We are working together for the first time in a film."
About the activities of 'Paani Foundation' in Maharashtra, Aamir said the movement has began with participation of people and it will definitely succeed.
Drought prone areas will be turned into water rich zones. The actor later left to witness a wrestling match between women.
