Though his last days were tragic and he died in penury, the film plans to focus more on his heydays. In the 1940s, he was apparently the richest actor with a fleet of 40 cars. Says producer Dr Monish S Babre, "We have sought permission from Bhagwan Dada's son Arun Palav.
All those who love to watch old films will remember Bhagwan Dada and particularly his unique dance movements. It is our tribute to him." Though a doctor by profession, Babre also has his own production house, as he is equally passionate about filmmaking.
Bhagwan's unique dance steps were made even more famous by Amitabh Bachchan who used it as his default dance step in several of his 1980s flicks. The biopic will be directed by Niranjan Patwardhan, who has worked with Madhur Bhandarkar earlier.
