Over the past few years, thanks to item numbers, foreign talents have been steadily pouring into Bollywood. The latest addition to this fledging list is Tatiana Tsapikidou. Apparently, she has been cast in a biopic, thanks to her resemblance to costume designer Neeta Lulla!
The light-eyed actress, who was found through an agent abroad, hails from Greece. "The casting for the protagonist is still being finalised but an actor to play the character inspired by Neeta has already been roped in," says a source from the unit.
The film, reportedly based on the life of late actress Divya Bharti - who would be 39-years-old were she alive today - is being made by director Vikram Sandhu. However, the filmmaker continues to deny that the forthcoming film is based on anybody's life in particular.
After delivering a string of hits, Divya fell to her death from her five-storey Versova apartment at the age of 19.
Incidentally, Neeta was the last person she met on that tragic night. Even after the accident, Neeta was constantly by her side.
The source further informs that the film emphasises on their friendship before tragedy cut short the actress' life. "The whole idea of the film is to avoid unnecessary controversies. We are not trying to sensationalise the loss of a promising actress but to create a tribute to her legacy. This is something that hasn't been done before for her," adds the source. u00a0
