Holi hai, and celebrities are airing their white finery, only for it to get soiled once again. But considering that this festival of colours completely ravages the white garment, it would only be logical to wear your trashiest clothes that you don't mind dumping. But celebs obviously beg to differ, probably for the following reasons:

A soaking wet, white garment gives celebs a chance to flaunt their svelte figures, without making it look contrived. Who said that a kurta or sari can't make you look sexy?

Fashion designer Krishna Mehta gives us the politically correct reason. "White is symbolic of the changing seasons and stands for happiness." So why does the colour usually languish in the wardrobe and only surface at the time of funerals or Holi?

Crassly put as the herd mentality, but most trends are set by aping others. So many celebs don a white kurta, just because everyone else is doing it. For once, they don't have a wardrobe dilemma before a party!

Wearing white isn't the bottomline. Celebs also ensure that they're wearing designer white, and God forbid if someone else is wearing anything remotely similar to theirs. This really is the time for celebrities to flaunt their creative designs and personal style statements.u00a0

White is a safe colour to sport because it almost always makes you look elegant. Celebs know that they can't really go wrong with it.
