Anil Kapoor's âWoh Saat Din' that came out today on June 23, 1983 completes 38 years. It was the story of love, memories, sacrifice, and heartbreak. A Hindi film recently completed 22 years that tackled similar emotions, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's âHum Dil De Chuke Sanam'.
The era of the 80s was largely dominated by Kapoor, who was experimenting with almost all characters and genres. He had a courtroom drama in the form of âMeri Jung', potboilers in the form of âTezaab', and âKarma', family dramas in the form of the iconic âRam Lakhan', and critics-friendly choices like âEeshwar' and âParinda'.
The man who has always believed in entertaining fans also submitted himself to guilty pleasures like âLaadla' and âJudaai', both with the Superstar of that time, the late Sridevi. Their most iconic film together was unarguably âMr. India', the nation's maiden tryst with the genre of Science Fiction. And their most underrated collaboration happened with Yash Chopra's âLamhe' in 1991, which still remains a gorgeous, audacious telling of romance.
Over the last few years, Anil Kapoor has stood tall with choices that have worked with both the audiences and critics. These include films like âRace', âWelcome', and more recently, âDil Dhadakne Do'. He was last seen in Netflix's âAK v/s AK'. He now has three films coming up- Karan Johar's âTakht' which the filmmaker describes as the âKabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' of the Mughal Era.

He then has Raj Mehta's âJug Jugg Jeeyo' and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's âAnimal'. One is expected to be a family entertainer and the other a chilling thriller. The actor, hopefully, gets to explode the way he always has in his performances. Here's to 38 years of entertainment in future too.
