Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is completing 25 years on October 16. The campus romantic drama marked the directorial debut of Karan Johar. On the special occasion, Dharma Productions will host a special film screening for fans on October 15.
Announcing the special screening of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dharma Productions wrote on the official Instagram page, "Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai aur #KuchKuchHotaHai special screening ka mauka bhi ek hi baar milta hai! The popularity of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains intact even after 25 years. Within a few minutes of opening the ticket counter for the re-run, the limited shows went houseful. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released just in PVR (Inox) theatre in Andheri West and tickets were sold off like hotcakes.
On Tuesday, Sony Music India announced the recreated version of the popular song, Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee. The original song, Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee, was voiced by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, and Manpreet Akhtar. Composed by Jatin-Lalit, the lyrics were penned by Sameer Anjaan. The new rendition will be by B Praak and Jaani.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released on October 16, 1998. The film was centered around Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), Anjali (Kajol) and Tina (Rani Mukerji). Rahul, a stud of the college, falls in love with Tina, a glamorous yet desi-at-heart London-returned new girl. Anjali, a tomboy and Rahul's best friend secretly loves him. She is heartbroken with Rahul and Tina's closeness. Years later, Tina passes away during childbirth but wants their daughter to reunite Rahul and Anjali. The latter undergoes a major transformation and succumbs to conventional beauty standards.
Karan returned to direction after a hiatus of 7 years. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was his 7th directorial in his 25-year-long career. The family entertainer was declared successful at the box office and received rave reviews. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was headlined by Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
