The Aamir Khan-starrer has also achieved the feat of recording highest first day collection as a regular Friday release. Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, "'pk' registered a first-day collection of Rs 26.7 crore. There was a 10 per cent jump on Saturday (Rs 30 crore), and it only soared on Sunday (Rs 38 crore). It will cross the Rs 100-crore mark in four days and as Christmas is nearing, it is set to register the highest first week collections of 2014.''

Exhibitors are also hopeful about pk's potential to cross the Rs 200-crore mark. Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, "The film's business has been steady and it has bright prospects with an open run for the next 15 days.'' Thadani feels that the collections would have been better if the ticket pricing was lower. He says, "I am sure the tickets will get down to normal rates during weekdays."

Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas says pk has ended Bollywood's disastrous run at the box office. "I don't think the ticket prices really mattered to the audience as several cinemas ran to full capacity," he adds.
