Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor celebrates her birthday on June 9. The actress, who tied the knot with Anand Ahuja in 2018 is a mom to baby boy Vayu, who was born in 2022. While Sonam is a hands-on mother, who hasn't taken up many acting projects to be with her son, she once revealed having a tough pregnancy while her husband was quarantined due to COVID-19.
In an interview with Vogue, Sonam shared, "I found out I was pregnant on Christmas Day. Anand was in the other room of our London apartment since he had COVID-19 and I Zoomed him and gave him the news. Then we called our parents and told them as well. We had all decided that I would be extra careful since a lot of people in London were getting COVID around that time, but exactly a month later, I came down with a fever, cough, and cold."

She continued, "I was terrified and immediately started googling "What happens if you have Covid when you're pregnant?" It was tough. I was taking progesterone shots in my thighs and stomach - practically everywhere on my body - because I was of advanced maternal age and was constantly throwing up, sick, and bedridden."
"Everyone's so tense about women who get pregnant after 31 or 32. They tell you don't do this, don't do that, don't get gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. I was like, "Wait, hang on, I still feel very young. I've got my dad's genes, I look very young. It'll be fine," added Sonam.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, Sonam was last seen in the film 'Blind' directed by Shome Makhija and also starring Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey in prominent roles. The film marked Sonam's return to acting after a maternity break. Sonam has signed two new projects as well. Talking about them, Sonam said, "I took two years off as I was pregnant and then wanted to take some time off with my son. Two years are not done yet and I have signed onto two projects - one show and one film that I will start working on. It will be released in another year because that is how films work. Then my idea is to do two pieces of content every year, that's it, not more because I want to spend time with my family as well."
