Actor Fardeen Khan, who recently made a comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,' recently opened up on not being able to have children which led to taking the IVF route, resulting in his time away from the limelight, a decision he regrets. Fardeen married Natasha in 2005 and are parents to a daughter Diani Isabella Khan and a son Azarius.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen shared, "We were having challenges having children, and that's when we decided to take the IVF route. That's why I needed to take some time off. It wasn't meant to be this long. I thought only for a few yearsâ¦get everything settled, but things didn't happen that way. Then, when my daughter was born, my heart melted, and I thought, let's spend some time with her. But I was fortunate that I had the luxury to take that time off. It wasn't deliberate or conscious, but having said that, when I look back, I wish I hadn't taken such a long break. Definitely a regret on many levels."
He last appeared on the big screen in âDulha Mil Gaya' (2010). The actor had gone on a sabbatical, being completely off movies and even social media.
In a recent interview with ANI, Fardeen opened up about his comeback, saying he feels like a "newcomer". "A lot has changed in these 12 years...The level of films has changed. The way people consume cinema has changed... Today, there's completely a new generation so I feel like a newcomer. I feel fortunate that I got a chance to work with good people with this 'Heeramandi' show. I have two more pictures that will be released this year... I am really thankful to the audience have trusted me," he said.
