Bollywood actors when not spending time on sets indulge in therapeutic activities with farming or gardening being one of them. These plant parents have sown the seeds setting an example and have reaped the fruits and vegetables of their labour. Here's a look at celebs who enjoy growing their very own produce setting the tone for a âfarm to table' lifestyle.
Salman Khan
Salman Khan, who spent his COVID-19 lockdown days at Panvel farmhouse in 2020 tried his hand at farming. The Bollywood actor took to Instagram and shared a video of where he can be seen planting some rice saplings on his farm. "Rice plantation done," he wrote alongside the clip.

Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi Pednekar has decided to learn the science of hydroponics farming or soil-less gardening from her mother during the lockdown. "My mom and I always wanted to have a hydroponics garden of our own where we grow our own vegetables and can have a fully sustainable lifestyle. We wanted to have a garden-to-table lifestyle at home and we are both happy with the progress. I have been working closely with my mom during this time. I'm proud that our garden can now produce food for two days of the week!" the actress informed.
Juhi Chawla
The lockdown season also turned Juhi Chawla into an organic farmer. The actress shared pictures where she can be seen planting tomatoes and preparing beds for coriander and fenugreek. Juhi called it her "Naya kaam" (new task)!
Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty shared a video where she can be seen "cleaning and tending to the garden" with a broom. The actress shared another video last week where she was teaching her son how to pluck organic brinjals from their garden, and at the same time ensuring the child didn't touch the green chilies. "One of the greater joys of life is to see your efforts coming to fruition in this circle of life; whether it is about starting a new venture, seeing your child grow up, or just the plants you nurture bearing vegetables and fruits for you to enjoy. Planted these seeds in pots 4 months ago and was thrilled to see brinjals and chilies ready to be harvested. As they say, what you sow, so you shall reap. Clean organic produce," the actress wrote on Instagram.
Dharmendra
Veteran actor Dharmendra was seen joyfully flaunting the fruits of his farms during the lockdown. The 'Sholay' actor took to social media to share a video of himself where he is showing the bananas and chikoos grown by him. "Hi friends, how are you? I am really happy such amazing bananas have grown on my farms. chikoos, bananas, coconut, I am working on all with your good wishes and his blessings, " he said in the video. "I am so happy today, I am very excited. Yes, we get bananas easily in the market, but bananas grown in your own farms are different and amazing. Love you," he added.
Jackie Shroff
Jackie Shroff who is best known as âApna Bhidu' went viral for his quick recipes to fix a hearty meal with fewer ingredients. A couple of months back, the actor took to Instagram and shared a video of relishing a wholesome meal cooked by using the produce from his farm. It included dishes like rotis (chappati), karela ki sabzi (bitter gourd), dal (pulses), kadhi and salad. Jackie captioned it, "From farm to table, today we cooked nature's fuel. Staying grounded and healthy is the only way to go. Recipe chahiye to batana, Bhidu."
