Day six of India Couture Week 2024 saw a mesmerizing showcase of designer Gaurav Gupta's latest collection, 'Arunodaya'.

It signifies the early dawn, derived from the Sanskrit words "Arun," meaning dawn, and "Udaya," meaning rise or daybreak.

This captivating phenomenon, where the first light of day breaks the darkness, was the essence of Gaurav Gupta's India couture collection.

The Arunodaya collection captured the serene tones of early morning with White, Ivory Pearl, Comet Blue, Petal Pink, Mauve, Slate, Sand, Bordeaux, and Lava, blending tradition with innovation.

Futuristic elements such as metallic breastplates and reflective embroidery on men's jackets enhanced the collection, heralding a new era in Indian couture.

The show culminated with Khushi Kapoor and Vedang Raina as the showstoppers. Khushi donned a fitted mermaid skirt and an off-shoulder blouse with sleeves, paired with a shoulder cape. Her outfit, in a mesmerizing Sand hue, was adorned with thousands of dripping crystals, pearls, and Zardozi embroidery. Vedang wore a black velvet long jacket featuring intricate refraction embroidery.

Jayanti Reddy’s latest collection comprises approximately 40 seminal looks and was a soul-searing Nizami canvas where heritage textiles had a conversation with antique motifs.

It's like revisiting a time in India's regal past when luxury was synonymous with dexterous hand-done work, sartorial finesse, and unquestioning allegiance to slow fashion.

The collection was a cornucopia of culture and color, couture, and poetry.

A symbiosis where traditional embroideries were informed by the royals of Hyderabad and their unapologetic lavish lifestyles.

‘Heeramandi’ fame Aditi Rao Hydari aka Bibbojaan turned showstopper for Reddy. She looked exquisite in a peplum top paired with a sharara. The ensemble was adorned with sequin embroidery.

She accessorized her look with a choker necklace and kept her hair straight. For glam, she opted for a bold red lip colour.
