Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made a case for sustainable fashion with a sultry outfit for an awards night. 

The actress stunned in a black bodycon dress that was repurposed from the gown that she wore for her wedding to ex-husband Naga Chaitanya. 

"We cannot ignore sustainability anymore. We’re past that stage when it was a choice. It’s now a necessity for the longevity of our planet that we call home," she wrote on Instagram. 

Isha Ambani Piramal wore a 16-paneled ghagra in 2 shades of off-white that featured a trail. Each panel was hand embroidered. Vermilion, the iconic bridal hue featured in the zardozi borders, lends auspiciousness to the ensemble. She layered it with her mother’s 35-year-old wedding sari. 

Ananya Panday borrowed her mom’s strapless emerald green dress and set an example of recycling outfits. 

For the Indian premiere of 'Manthan', Prateik Babbar upcycled his later mother and the film's actress Smita Patil's silk Kanjeevaram sarees.

He wore a cropped double-breasted tuxedo with wide-legged pants. “Sustainable fashion with an emotional connection, this look has it all,” wrote his stylist Rahul Vijay.

Ratna Pathak Shah attended the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for the screening of 'Manthan'. For her look, she upcycled a lime green saree she’d worn multiple times and paired it with a lavender blouse and jacket. 

Khushi Kapoor graced the screening of her debut film 'The Archies' in a golden gown that was worn by her mother and late actor Sridevi back in 2013.

Sridevi wore this gown with intricate crystals as a showstopper in 2013 at the IIFA red carpet.

For a friend's wedding, fashionista Sonam Kapoor wore her mom Sunita’s 35-year-old gharchola saree. “Thanks mama for lending me this sari and blouse, love raiding your closet,” she wrote on Instagram.
