Attar Shastra Fragrances
India's upcoming luxury fragrance brand Attar Shastra Fragrances debuted its premium line of attars (perfume oils) at the recent Diwali expo, which took place at DLF Galleria, Sector 28, Gurgaon, Haryana. The brand's debut garnered exceptional response, with several variants selling out on the final day of the exhibition.
"Indian consumers have a deep appreciation for attars (perfume oils) that are luxurious and aesthetically beautiful like pieces of art," says Pooja Arvind Chavan, founder of Attar Shastra Fragrances.
The exhibition revealed diverse preferences among Indian fragrance enthusiasts, ranging from subtle fresh and floral notes to intense woody and Oud-based compositions. "What truly surprised us was the wide spectrum of our customer base. Our youngest customer, a 6-year-old girl, chose âPeekaboo', an earthy and fresh fragrance, showing that age is no barrier when it comes to appreciating fine perfumery," Pooja adds.
Attar Shastra sets itself apart in the luxury fragrance market with its commitment to natural ingredients. Their attars (perfume oils) have an impressive longevity of 7-8 hours, achieved without the use of alcohol. With niche blends that cater to everyday and workwear fashion, the brand provides a wide range of fragrances.
As a first-generation entrepreneur and social impact specialist, Pooja brings a unique perspective to the luxury fragrance industry. "My vision goes past creating fragrances. Through my work, I intend to contribute to India's development by creating employment opportunities and taking Indian perfumery on the global stage," she explains.
The popularity of Attar Shastra at the Diwali exhibition underscores the growing appreciation for traditional Indian perfumery in a modern context. "We aspire to build Attar Shastra into a consumer-led brand," Pooja shares. "The insights we gathered from this exhibition will significantly influence our future product development."
The brand's dedication to quality and authenticity resonates with the evolving preferences of Indian consumers who seek natural alternatives to conventional fragrances. As the festive season continues, Attar Shastra's collection makes it a noteworthy addition to India's luxury fragrance market.
The brand is currently online. However, in the upcoming months, they are planning to visit cities across India to add more perfume lovers to the Attar Shastra family.
