Bharat Express CMD, Upendrra Rai

On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day ceremony, the CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network, Upendrra Rai, lit a ceremonial lamp to honour the freedom fighters who secured India's independence. Following this, he hoisted the national flag, saluting the tricolour with pride. Addressing the gathering of Bharat Express employees and other eminent guests, he conveyed a powerful message to always prioritize the nation first. During his speech, he quoted, "Jis desh jaat mein janm liya, balidan usi par ho jayein," meaning, "In the country and community where you were born, sacrifice yourself for it." He explained, "In this context, ‘community or jaat' refers to humanity, and every Indian's greatest duty is to be dedicated to the country and humanity."

Highlighting the significance of freedom, CMD Upendrra Rai stated, "One form of freedom is the independence our country gained from British rule. The other form of freedom is when we explore our potential, develop our character, and establish a unique identity in society. This is the true essence of individual liberty." He further elaborated, "Freedom is not merely about overcoming physical distance, but about fulfilling the purpose for which the God has sent us. When we refine all our potential and dedicate ourselves to the welfare of the country and society, only then is the true meaning of freedom realized at a personal, social, and spiritual level."

While recalling the supreme sacrifices of India's martyrs, CMD Upendrra Rai stressed the importance of remembering the hardships endured to achieve freedom. He remarked, "Today, the majority of our population falls between the ages of 29 and 40. The work done in the field of personality development in our country has been recognized worldwide. Unfortunately, some nations have surpassed us." Explaining the reason behind this, he said, "The primary reason is that our country endured invasions and slavery for thousands of years, which deeply ingrained fear and subjugation in our DNA and psyche."

He added, "Man is neither free from resources nor from the knowledge imparted by others. Those who have walked the path of humanity across the world have achieved various milestones. All of them have shown one path to liberation-devotion to their knowledge. True liberation is achieved when you become what you were meant to be."

The Independence Day ceremony also saw the participation of CMD Upendrra Rai's wife, Dr. Rachna, daughter Oorja Akshara, and son Sadyant Kaushal. Sadyant captivated everyone with his rendition of the Ganesh Vandana, while Dr. Rachna moved the audience with her soulful performance of the song "Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon." Oorja Akshara's performance of "Ae Mere Pyare Watan" made the Independence Day celebration even more memorable. The ceremony concluded with CMD Upendrra Rai releasing white doves and balloons, symbolizing peace and freedom.
