Global Boxing Series
In a dazzling exhibition of star-studded action and a cocktail of glitz and glamour, with the presence of Bollywood celebrities Ravi Behl, Nisha Rawal and top influencer Donal Bisht, actor and restaurateur Simple Kaul-the inaugural Global Boxing Series captivated the audience with a display of global level pro-boxing in Mumbai which is a first of its kind in India.
Being promoted by Devraj Das, founder of Marine Pro Boxing Promotions and one of India's most famous radio jockeys, hosts and actor, Salil Acharya was held at the Jade Garden Banquets on Saturday night.
The series witnessed a total of nine bouts which included an influencer marquee showdown, another first for Indian boxing.
The influencer marquee showdown is a high-profile boxing match between social media influencers YouTubers, TikTok stars and other digital content creators who are gaining popularity across the globe and who are trained boxers as well.
"It was a mesmerising feeling to see the pro-boxers in action, this is one of my first experience and am really excited and wish Salil and Devraj best wishes as they plan to organise more such fights and take Pro Boxing is to the next level with the right dose of entertainment and sports," said Nisha Rawal, popular face on TV.
On Saturday, acclaimed reality TV show, Temptation Island star, Tayne De Villiers took on internet sensation, Ishant Rawat, popularly known as the Knucklehead Warrior. And the magnetism of the event was further amplified by the presence of celebrities from all walks of life in the arena packed to brim with enthusiastic boxing fans and first timers alike.
Salil who has been working closely in the martial art scene in India is upbeat with the responses since the fight went live, "Global Boxing Series is getting the right kind of of enquires since we went live on Hotstar and am greatful to all my friends from the media industry who came or watched live. We have big plans and the announcements are coming up soon."
Among the eight pro-bouts on Saturday, Delhi's Parul Adhikari impressed with a split decision win over Muskan Srivastava in the women's Light Weight category while Pushpendra Rathi registered a Technical Knock Out against Jayant Gunji in the men's Light Weight category.
