My dad had the courage to change his career while in his 40s to pursue what he loved doing. And mind you, It is the 1980's that we are talking about, when a person held on to a job till he retired. He had the courage to believe in himself. His work ethic was impeccable. I have seen him resolve umpteen number of problems with a smile, never breaking a sweat. Thank you, dad, for helping me see this world the way you did."

He has been a typical victorian father who are known more for discipline rather than show of affection. Growing up I and my two brothers hardly had much of conversation with him. One episode that had lasting impression on me was when his assistant took me to a flag hoisting ceremony on Independence Day offered me a "box of sweet". My father took that away from me and instead give me "five rupees" note stating that the snacks was for official staff. As kid I was naturally dejected but much latter it gave rise to Values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Trust that are corner stone of my existence. Quite honestly My Mother is my lap of comfort but my father is the light house."
