Shaam e Sukhan was initiated by Vishwa Hindi Academy that has been promoting literature and Hindi since several years, hosted by Girish Wankhede of Wankhede Brothers Media and the event was introduced by Keshav Rai.
An aficionado and being a great connoisseur of arts, Girish Wankhede who has been associated with various shows and events promoting music, singing, shayari, ghazals, etc was the host of the entire evening narrating his anecdotes and knowledge of shayari and trivias that left the audience spellbound.
Ten shayars came on board this evening including Irfan Khan, Supriya Mishra, Bhupendra Singh Khidiya, Ishan, Shweta Singh, Prashant Babar, Abhishek Mulchandani, Haseeb Zaraash and Faisal Farooq.
Among the guests were the glitterati of showbiz and artistic world, being understood as guests and contacts of Girish Wankhede's decade long experience in the business of media and his wide network due to his personal relationships with them. Wankhede while anchoring the show with his witty moments, also then aptly went through the flow of shayaris from Mirza Ghalib to Dr Bashir Bhadra to Dushyant Kumar, reciting their shayaris and other well known shayars. Almost akin to a walking encyclopedia on Shayaris and Ghazals.

It was indeed an impressive initiative for Wankhede Brothers Media to host Shaam- e- Sukhan, a non-commercial event that promoted budding shayars and poets. "We shall be holding several more of such events on Mushairas and Kavi Sammelans for new talented shayars, as you must have noted that today's event saw all the new and upcoming shayars. I am amazed that these youngsters had a modern day vision that is balanced with their respect for the old shayars," mentioned Girish Wankhede.
Among these exceptional new breed of shayars was Shweta Singh who enthralled the audience with her poems on love of Radha and Krishna. Supriya Mishra created poetry on various titles of short stories and books written by Saadat Hasan Manto, one of the finest writers in our country during the 40s and 50s.
Being the first shayar on stage, Ishan's rendition of poetry while grooving across the stage with great command over poetry, Irfan Khan mesmerized with his poetic language and shayaris on modern culture that was filled with satire. The stylish ad film maker Haseeb Zaraash displayed great command over Urdu language. Bhupendra Singh Khidiya enthralled the audience with his suave narration of the poetry form, actor cum poet Abhishek Mulchandani's great composition, Faisal Farooq's poetry captured the great understanding of our culture.
The evening ended with singing talents of Chintan Bakiwala, Raj Bisen and Santosh Rokade.Among the illustrious guest list were Ravi Panga, Durgadas Sondekar Patil, Suhas Kalyani, Veena Wankhede, Amita Desai, Purti Havle and Pushkar Ojha.
